Having last year definitively answered our own ‘Are we still up to backpacking?’ with a month in Vietnam, we decided to make it three this time round, starting out in Malaysia, then on to Thailand, then Cambodia, then Vietnam – the north, which we’d ruled out last year on account of the weather: too cold in January, fine by April.
