The kopyright kops have pretty much put paid to my vinyl uploads, but not before 30 some slipped through the net.

Below, my top ten, in order of YT views/popularity.  Sidney Bechet @ 1, 2 & 3? I was surprised.  Even more by #1’s more than 4x lead over #2. For a record I picked up off a market stall because Bechet for £3 is a no-brainer.  ‘Mezzrow’? Turns out he was quite a character. Lived as a sort of honorary ‘black’ man, in the black community,  having found the company more congenial. Played a mean clarinet, smoked a lot of weed.

Personally, if I had to pick one to start with, I think I’d go with Sonny Stitt. But you really can’t go far wrong.  If music be the food of love…
